Turkish Super Cup final between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce in Saudi Arabia postponed
The Turkish Super Cup final in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce has been postponed. The two sides had been due to meet in the showpiece event on Friday evening, but a decision was made to abandon the match, despite some supporters reportedly already being in the stadium. The Turkish Football Federation, in conjunction with the two clubs, said it was a "joint decision".
The Turkish Super Cup final between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce due to take place in Riyadh on Friday night has been postponed.
The two sides, the Turkish champions and cup winners respectively, had been scheduled to meet at Al-Awwal Park in the Saudi Arabian capital.
But a joint statement from the Turkish Football Federation and the two clubs confirmed the abandonment, citing "some problems" in the organisation of the showpiece event.
The statement added that the game would be "postponed to a later date".
